What is the
mast-feeding period?

Mast-feeding period is the last phase of iberico pigs breeding, which comprises from October to March. Pigs graze in the pasture, traditionally fattening between holm oaks and cork oaks. Their fruits is the acorn which is the main food for this pigs and the base for the quality of the future acorn-fed iberico hams, shoulders and cold meats.

Hams and shoulder are identified with a coloured and numbered seal depending on their feeding:
Black: Pure Iberico Acorn-fed Pieces
From acorn-fed pigs, genetically iberico 100%.
Red: 75% or 50% Iberico Acorn-fed Pieces
From acorn-fed pigs 75% or 50% iberico.
Green: 100%, 75% or 50% Iberico Free range feed Pieces
From pigs raised in the fields and fed with grass and grain.
White: 100%, 75% or 50% Iberico Grain-fed Pieces
From pigs fed with grain.
